One of the amazing aspects of Jonah's story is his view of God, as opposed to the amazing revelation of God to Jonah of who He is. Jonah had a wonderful view of God, but not the perfect one. He was able to preach to the gentile sailor and the passengers boarding the ship, in which he said to them, "I am a Hebrew; and I fear the Lord, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land." (Jonah 1:9, NKJV).
